Research Director
Lansing, Michigan
Shift:
8am-5pm
Education:
Required: High School Diploma.
Preferred: College Degree in related field and Computer Training.
Skills:
Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Must be competent
in word processing, database, designing and producing sales support pieces and sales presentations. Work
well with others, have ability to handle many tasks at once, and work well under deadline pressure.
Preferred: Proficiency in Keynote, Photoshop and Mac-based design and presentation tools as well as
Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint. Must be able to deal with a variety of personalities and
be able to communicate well with clients, and must be able to prioritize to meet deadlines. Proficient with
computer programs including graphics and internet, and be able to adapt to circumstances. Be able to
supervise interns. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
Experience:
Required: 1+ years office and computer experience in word processing and database management. Excellent
Communication skills, able to work with others, great organizational skills. Accomplished in PowerPoint,
Keynote or both.
Preferred: 3+ years office experience, computer expertise including word processing, graphics and database. Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills. Patience, able to perform with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions.
Duties:
Create and understand ratings data and one sheets for sales use
Develop compelling sales pieces for Account Executives
Have a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape including programming and ratings info
Maintain station avail-system with up-to-date station programming, ratings estimates and selling rates Maintain and distribute programming grids and calendars
Prospect client-categories for new business for Account Executives
Demonstrate proficiency with relevant station software to help drive station revenue
This position is responsible for the consistent recruitment and oversight of sales interns for all three semesters
Design and create compelling sales presentations
Perform other duties as assigned
