Gather viable and interesting sports news, focusing primarily on local stories – but including regional and national sports. Write, edit and anchor sportscasts. Read newspapers, internet sites, watch games, listen to the radio and otherwise generate sports content. Requirements: Manage content and time. Use news judgment to produce sports segments that are competitive, creative and compelling. Promote sports through creative teases and headlines. Write scripts & edit video for sportscasts. Edit all video in the most professional manner. Manage timing of sportscasts. Attend games and practices. Conduct interviews on camera and otherwise. Shoot, write & edit sports stories for newscasts and sportscasts. Write and post sports content daily to the website & social media. Produce Yankees pre-game show. Lay out rundown. Produce, shoot, write and edit stories in conjunction with Sports Anchors. Coordinate with Graphics Department. Coordinate with Sales Department on sponsored elements. Coordinate with Director. Line produce the taping of the show. Post extended elements (packages, long form interviews) onto website & social media. Additional Information: Hours are typically Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 11:00am to 7:30pm. Approx 25 hours per week.
