WRGB | WCWN has an immediate opening for an experienced television technical director. The successful candidate will have worked in a competitive news environment. This director will interface directly with news producers to facilitate their needs in getting the newscasts on the air. This position requires hands on with video switchers, graphics, audio, editing, and studio equipment. Must be able to create desired video effects using multi-layers in switchers, graphics, DVE, etc. Must demonstrate creative flair and the ability to go beyond normal boundaries. In a leadership position, the successful candidate will be able bridge the gap between a production crew and newsroom needs. Must have experience with live news and other live programming. We seek a candidate who will have news automation experience, master control operations experience, and the ability to learn state of the art news automation systems. Must know camera dynamics, shot framing, and lighting and proper microphone techniques. Preferred candidate will have experience with Avid iNews, Ross Overdrive, Ross Synergy, Vizrt, Wheatstone audio boards, and ancillary equipment such as routing switchers, IFB, intercom systems. Must be able to make last minute changes during a show without losing pace. Needs to be a self-starter and level headed under pressure with the ability to take charge of situations.
