Shift:
Full-time
Education:
College degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications preferred.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and delivery skills, strong news judgment, must have strong writing skills which includes copy not just for on-air stories, but for the internet as well. Excellent presentation and reporting skills. Must be able to shoot and edit. Must have knowledge of television news photography including lighting scenes for video taping and ability to gather information and conduct interviews in the field and on-scene at breaking news events. Work with producers to package news stories. Sound knowledge of current events. Ability to meet deadlines is a must.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience as a photojournalist and reporter preferred.
Duties:
Generate and write stories for broadcast on-air and for the internet, report on a variety of topics, shoot and videotape news stories and edit. Drive station vehicle to news events. Lift camera and associated equipment, write, shoot and edit news stories and packages.
