General Sales Manager WFTX-TV Fort Myers, FL Employment Status: Full-time Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; core competencies in leading a sales team by communicating a vision and values, strategic decision making, building partnerships internally and with externally; thorough knowledge of broadcast industry related to inventory, ratings, research, and demographics and the internet. Attention to detail is critical. Experience: Five years sales management experience required; strong leadership skills, proven track record creating developmental and transactional revenue; expert inventory management; budget preparation and market analysis and sales planning strategies. Broadcast sales management, including customer focused selling experience preferred. Duties: Grow sales revenues by increasing market share for station; drive and manage developmental sales projects on both the Local and National front. Create and sell convergent on-air/on-line packages. Supervise Sales Managers and AE’s. Develop, plan and implement sales strategies through pricing policies, key and target account management, and inventory management; work with all station departments to maximize promotional and product opportunities; identify and monitor sales trends locally and nationally; create a productive work environment leading employees though our mission, vision and values; one on one sales staff development; maintain department budget.
