Education:
College degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communication preferred.
Skills:
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent delivery skills; strong organizational skills; ability to work well under pressure; strong in-person interviewing skills and on-air presentation; good voice quality that includes clear enunciation; ability to present sports insights in an entertaining way, relevant to our target audience; must have strong writing and production skills; excellent presentation and reportorial skills; knowledge of journalistic standards as related to the on-air presentation; must be able to work well with others to develop and execute compelling programming; must be self motivated and creative. Must have the ability to conduct on site remote broadcasts and appearances and interact professionally with clients and listeners. Must have ability to operate studio equipment; general knowledge of radio station operation including the capacity to run an audio console and related equipment; computer proficiency including Adobe Audition and web based software.
Experience:
Minimum of three to five years on-air hosting experience preferred.
Duties:
Hosts of daily sports program; the show’s hosts will answer listener calls and add expertise to the show; conduct interviews in addition to on-air duties. Hosts will assist in any research and segment prep required, conduct remote broadcasts, make public appearances/community involvement, produce promos and other recorded audio content; new media elements such as blogs and live chats and other duties as assigned by manager.
