Photographer KTNV-TV, Channel 13 Action News Las Vegas, NV Employment Status: Full-Time Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication or Journalism emphasis preferred; or equivalent experience. Skills: Candidate must display sound knowledge of broadcast news policies and ethical standards; sound knowledge of current events, broadcast technology and terminology necessary; must have experience with all aspects of television news photography including recording and non-linear editing news events, lighting scenes for interviews and live shots, and gathering information to conduct interviews; ability to meet deadlines a must; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential; must be able to set up and execute live shots. Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous experience as news photographer preferred Duties: Shoot and edit videotape for our special projects unit and news with P2 camera and Edius editing software for news broadcasts; display high journalistic standards; work creatively with reporters and producers to package news stories for broadcast; set up, shoot, and edit video tape for live shots; coordinate with reporters in the field; operate all non-linear editing and recording equipment; set up and safely operate ENG vans for live remotes; stay in contact with Assignment Desk and Field Reporter; conduct interviews independently; effectively communicate ideas for specific assignments; work with other departments to ensure smooth presentation; perform other related duties as assigned by news management.
