Program Director WTMJ Radio Milwaukee, WI Employment Status: Full-time Education: College degree in related field preferred. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; critical listening skills required; ability to evaluate and improve programming; must have extensive knowledge of radio programming, especially as it relates to the News/Talk/Sports format; thorough understanding of marketing and brand management as it applies to radio programming; proficient in use of high impact production elements; solid understanding of Arbitron and research methodologies; strong problem solving abilities; able to maintain highest creative and ethical standards in a high-pressure environment; ability to meet deadlines and strong detail orientation; computer proficiency; effective interpersonal skills and track record for managing high-performance teams. Must understand, embrace and have demonstrated track record for utilization of digital and interactive platforms in addition to traditional media. Experience: Minimum three years experience programming a News or Talk station, preferably in a top 50 market. Duties: Day to day program scheduling; motivate and coach high-profile talent in all day parts; supervise station promotions; maintain fresh, cutting-edge imaging and promotions; represent Journal Broadcast Group by acting with the highest ethical standards; oversee budgeting process; other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Operations Manager.
