Journal Broadcast Group Job Opportunity: Investigative Producer (FT)

Investigative Producer KTNV-TV News 13 Las Vegas, NV Scheduled Days & Hours: Full-time; Exempt Education: College degree in journalism or related field required. Skills: Strong writing, news judgment and organizational skills are essential; ability to work closely with others under deadline pressure; knowledge of general broadcast newsroom operations; knowledge of libel laws; should be familiar with online, as well as on air production and editing techniques. Must be able to implement findings of station research and directives of newsroom managers. Must be self motivated, and able to produce stories that can also be turned in just one day. Experience with non-linear equipment is preferred. Experience: Minimum two to three years newscast producer or investigative/special projects producer Duties: Responsible for research, writing and producing investigative reports for various newscasts, as well as general assignment stories as needed. Produce stories for both sweeps and non-sweeps periods. Must be a strong storyteller, and know how to use pacing, creative graphics and special editing techniques to produce compelling Action News reports. Online newsgathering and computer assisted reporting skills are preferred. Must be able to work on multiple projects; other duties as assigned by manager.
